Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is one of the most famous and oldest floating markets in Thailand, located in Ratchaburi Province, about 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok.
Established in the 19th century during the reign of King Rama IV, the market was developed along the Damnoen Saduak Canal, which connects the Mae Klong and Tha Chin rivers. The canal helped promote trade and transportation in the region.
At the market, vendors sell fresh fruits, vegetables, Thai snacks, souvenirs, and local handicrafts — all from traditional wooden boats. Visitors can take a paddle boat ride through the canals to explore the market and experience the charm of traditional Thai water-based commerce.
Damnoen Saduak is not only a popular tourist destination but also a living example of Thailand’s cultural heritage and way of life along the waterways.
